Eador genesis mods11/23/2023 Also there are these new divine temples you can build, which allow you to cast these new divine rituals, and three of them give you an alliance with another race the elves, dwarves or centaurs. And assassins get extra backstab damage and ignore armour on top of this. Another thing which is in MotBW but not Genesis is the flanking/backstab mechanics: +1 damage for hitting an enemy from the two not quite back spots, and +2 for hitting from directly behind. There are some new spells (nothing you wouldn't find in MotBW, but I don't think you get them in Genesis). There are 16 new units you can get from buildings and a bunch more from locations in provinces. You get four new heroes (three you can hire from the start, one you have to do a ritual to turn a warrior into the hero). So more time to tweak your army position depending on the enemy, and movement is a bigger deal in this game. The major change you'll notice right away is a bigger tactical map. Those interactions with the gremlin (I forget his name?) are so much fun, aren't they? I have to say that I feel like the writing isn't as good as Genesis/MotBW. Sometimes instead of just killing the AI your goal is to make X amount of gold or to win a particular fight. I'm not sure because I'm still only up to the second major campaign, but it looks like it might be a prequel story to Genesis/MotBW. There are a few options which I don't understand, but I'm looking forward to trying them out.Īs for the campaign, so far it seems to be a series of scenarios with story lines that seem very loosely connected. This isn't something I've actually played because I wanted to get through the campaign first (the major reason why I started with that caveat), so I've just looked at the options for setting it up. There is a sandbox mode that functions like the story mode of Genesis/MotBW, but without the story. So I haven't actually looked at everything this game has to offer yet, and therefore you might consider this is kind of first impressions despite over 300 hours played (also that's slightly misleading because I'll leave the game on between turns while I watch videos and things like that). There was this tournament that attracted my attention, and I played a whole lot to win that, and since then I've been playing through the campaign, but haven't finished yet. I should start with a caveat: I've only recently started seriously playing this game. (Though it's been a while since I've looked at NH, so maybe not?) Tldr: it expands upon Genesis/MotBW to an extent which is comparable or greater than the New Horizons mod.
